Mispronounced
Hello again! Some of my hispanic co-workers tend to say "dijites" or "comites" and other words that I can not understand how they say it. Should it not be comiste or dijiste? Or they may say dijieron instead of dijeron or sálgamos as in the expression "despues que sálgamos para las vacaciones" with the accent on the 1st syllable instead of on the 2nd syllable as in "salgamos para las vacaciones"? I know the latter of the two is correct one. Any ideas on the above?

The other mispronunciations are probably regional. Again, your corrections are right. Don't ridicule, but opt to speak correctly. I'm certain they'll understand you. |

People mispronounce things all the time. A lot of times it's an individual's
mispronounciation, but variation in pronunciation also depends what country and city --even neighborhood you are from. A keen listener can often guess correctly where a person is from by the way they pronounce things.
