To be named after

How does one express the idea of "to be named after someone or something" in Spanish? Translation tells me "ser nombrado despues de", but I have some doubt about whether that is correct.

Gracias amigos.

No, no me suena.

"Tocayo" is an equivalence relation and it means that A and B have the same name . For example, "Pablo Iglesias es tocayo de Pablo Mármol".
For example, if your name is Javier (common name in Spain), you have a ton of tocayos. In that case, yo can use "tocayo" for call someone who has the same name as you, instead of "Javier": "¿Qué tal estás, tocayo?"
