¿Quieres aprender holandés?

Being the language lovers that we are... A place to talk about, or write in languages other than Spanish and English.

Smile ¿Quieres aprender holandés?

¡Hola a todos!

Well as there wasn't any thread yet about my native language, and as some of you have expressed some curiosity of wishing to learn a few basics, I thought I' d start a Dutch thread.

So if anyone has any particular questions regarding Dutch or how to say things in Dutch, I would be happy to answer. I could even make you an mp3 for pronunciation if you would like me to.

I'll maintain English for now in this thread frstly to keep it accessible to everyone, and secondly, well my Spanish isn't good enough yet to understand the nuances..

I'll start with a few basics...

English: Dutch:
  • 'Hello' - 'Hallo' /'Hoi'
  • 'How are you?' - 'Hoe gaat het met je?'
  • 'How are you?' (formal) - 'Hoe gaat het met u?'
  • 'My name is' - 'Ik heet'
  • 'Nice to meet you' - 'Aangenaam kennis te maken!'
  • ' I like (to)' - ' Ik vind het leuk'
  • 'Thank you' - 'Dank je wel'
  • 'Thank you' (formal) - ' Dank u wel'
  • 'Goodmorning' - 'Goedemorgen'
  • 'Goodafternoon' - 'Goedemiddag'
  • 'Goodevening' - ' Goedenavond'
  • 'Regards'/'Saludos' - 'Groetjes'
  • 'I live in Spain' - 'Ik woon in Spanje'
  • 'Nice to meet you!' - 'Wat leuk om je te ontmoeten!'
  • 'Until later'/Hasta luego - 'Tot later'
  • 'Until soon/Hasta pronto' - 'Tot snel!'
  • 'See you'/ Nos vemos - 'Tot ziens'
For those of you who are curious about the pronunciation, I have uploaded some mp3's

That should be enough for a first acquiantance
If anyone has any requests or things they want to know I'd be happy to help!

¡Qué mala eres!

Yo sé contar hasta 10 y el presente del verbo ser, pero no sé escribirlo bien. ¿Puedes hacerlo? Gracias, guapa.
