Mystery word: pegalita
I often listen to Spanish-language radio. One of the stations is WTOX-AM 1480, calling itself “La Gran D” and “La Más Mexicana”. Also part of one of its self-promotion blurbs sounds like: “something-something-something pegalitas cada hora.” I would like to know the meaning of the word pegalita. Is it a small pegala? I’ve been unable to get a satisfactory answer using the dictionary or the Internet. If you don’t know right off-hand, you can hear for yourself at www.lagrand1480.com. Just click on “ESCUCHE EN VIVO”. You shouldn’t have to listen long. Some mention is made of “pegalitas” every ten minutes or so during the music segments of the broadcast.
