"I didn't realise what the time was"

"No me daba cuenta la hora o no me daba cuenta a que hora era" ????

No me daba cuenta de la hora.
No me daba cuenta a qué hora era.

Take note that each sentence ends with a full stop, in both languages.

...and only imperfect if this is a habit or a repeated action in the past. If this is something that happened just once, use preterite instead.
