no es para...

no es para tanto
no es para ponerse asi
no es para desanimarte

These phrases do not translate directly to English. They seem to act as a defusing agent. They are passive.
No es para tanto = it's no big deal (I think it does anyway)
No es para ponerse asi=Does it mean, it's not my intention to make you feel that way?
I suppose they can be used ironically as well.

Does it appear as if I understand these phrases correctly?

Iris is on a distinguished road
You understand No es para tanto. No es para ponerse así means more or less: keep your hair on, it not so terrible!. But as far as I know they are not passive sentences.

no es para tanto.
no es para ponerse asi.
It's not that big of a deal.
It's not something you should get all worked up about.
It's not something you should worry about.
There's no reason to get uptight about it.
etc... etc..

no es para desanimarte.
It's not something you should get down about.
I'm not trying to get you down.
Cheer up.
I'm not trying to discourage you.
Don't be discouraged about it.
It's not something you should be discouraged by.
etc.

Sí es para tanto. Me ayudaron.

Poli

PD: Keep you hair on es muy británico. En este lado del estanque decimos it's not worth getting hot under the collar for

-Me he roto una uña.
