Hola a todos!

¿Qué significa el verbo "encasquillarse" en esta frase?

"Se le había encasquillado la sonrisa. No le gustaba que yo llamara cortijo a su hostal".

Yo aquí diría que se le había "congelado" ("congelarse la sonrisa" se usa mucho). Cuando algo se encasquilla no se puede mover.

Creo que significa que estaba sonriendo la persona pero al oir que el otro hablaba mal de su hostal, la sonrisa quedó fijo, "se congeló". En inglés, podría ser "the smile froze on his face".

"Encasquillar" es cuando se atasca un arma de fuego y no dispara.

Estoy de acuerdo en que a la persona se le trabó la sonrisa como una mueca y traslució el disgusto.
