Entumecimiento

Is "entumecimiento" a good word for "numbness"? Or is there a better word?

Thanks.

You can talk about "entumecimiento" when talking about "fingers" (de los dedos) and that would be "numbness";
When you talk about the legs or the muscles (de las piernas, los músculos) you could say "stiffness"...
But as Rusty says, or rather asks... What is the context?
numbness = 1. (on part of body) entumecimiento
or = 2. (lack of feeling) insensibilidad f

The context is, "¿Siente entumecimiento, hormigueo, o debilidad en las piernas?"

But wordreference.com does not come up with entumecimiento when you search for a translation for "numbness".

Thank you.

Looks like based on what Pablo said, it is accurate in this context.

Do you feel stiffness/numbness, crawling (feeling) or weakness en the legs?

stiffness = entumecimiento

numbness = dormido ( se me durmió la pierna/brazo/pie ) (you lose sensitivity to the touch but still feel it is numb)

In this context, yes, it's a good word.

If you select 'Spanish-English' translation in wordreference.com and type 'entumecimiento', you'll get conflicting information up top but will also see that there are two threads on the topic and, to the left, words like 'entumecer' and 'entumecido'. If you examine the threads, a couple of alternatives are mentioned.
If you select 'English-Spanish' translation and type in 'numbness', you'll see that there are seven threads on the topic. Read those and you'll see that five use 'entumecimiento' as a translation.

Thanks for your thorough responses.
Unfortunately, I cannot access the forum via my work computer (it's blocked) and work is where I do 98% of my studying.
