Nos ha enseñado mucho de suturas

Nos ha enseñado mucho de suturas

I'm not sure what this means figuratively. The sentence goes like this:
En la parte positiva la avenida nos ha enseñado mucho de suturas.

Is it figurative? I think it's plain sarcasm. "On the good side, the arrival* has taught us a lot about stitches".

* ¿Debe ser "venida" en vez de "avenida"? Probablemente de un bebé.

wild guess, algo sobre la construcción de los calles y combinarlos . probablemente un modismo, y no es literal

El artículo se trataba de la historia de la Gran Via, una avenida principal de Madrid. Es un artículo reverencial. A mi las suturas son las puntas que cosen para curar las heridas, y no entiendo el uso de las suturas en otros contextos.

Sí, Poli, sutura es lo que dices tú. Supongo que aquí se refiere a "remiendos", que habrán puesto parches aquí y allá para solucionar, un poco de cualquier manera, los problemas que les iban surgiendo. Por eso han aprendido a arreglar muchos inconvenientes no esperados, digo yo.

Al perecer, la avenida no es bien vista, pero por el lado positivo, ha enseñado a como hacer remiendos a las calles para que siga funcionando. ¿Algo que debiera haberse previsto antes de construir la avenida?
