Question Free standing studio

Would you translate "free standing studio" as "estudio autónomo"?

It sounds to me like "independiente"... but, is that right?

Any other ideas?

Puede ser, pero porque es un atelier/estudio me suena a "portátil", no?

Podría ser... en el contexto se refiere a un estudio de sonido o de filmación. Creo que puedes fabricarte un "free standing" estudio en el jardín trasero de tu casa, insonorizándolo para poder grabar sin ruidos...

Yo voy hacia "estudio independiente", es lo que más se escucha, ya que suele haber mucha monopolización en el ámbito y estudios berretas por doquier. Entonces "independiente" además de la obvia función, también cumpliría la de darle una importancia extra al estudio en cuanto a calidad/importancia contra los berretas :P

Yo también me inclino por lo de independiente, pero también tengo el concepto de lo que dice Pjt33 como algo válido... mmmmh...
