Moloch o Moloch Baal o Baal: Dios de los fenicios, cartagineses y cananitas. Era considerado el símbolo del fuego purificante, que a su vez simboliza el espíritu.
Wikipedia gives the above.
Yet, in Spanish is pronounced "Molok" and I believe in English the stress can go on the first or the second syllable. I have also seen the spelling "moloc".
DPD or DRAE don't give it as an entry...
Any data on what is the correct way to spell it in Spanish and to pronounce it?
(En el poema de Darío “Los Motivos del Lobo” yo solía decir “como si tuviera fuegos de Molok o de Satanás...”)
