Does anyone know a story about a "Good pirate?" We're having a literacy night at my school and the theme is pirates. Some people feel pirates are not a good role model....hmm....obviously we're doing it just for fun....Some people just analyze too much, they should just dress up and have fun....Don't you think?

Yeah it's OK. It's even OK for Disney (Pirates of the Caribbean).
It may be a too devilish to dress up like Somali pirates, or politicians filibustering in Congress, and besides only Spanish speakers would understand that filibusterers are pirates;)

You have to tried with the Caribbean pirates, in fact there's a movie about that story with a great actor.

I don't know a lot about pirate movies, but in the particular I liked so much that movie in those times.

Your truly.

In fantasy or fictional literature even bad can be good. I would like to know if there is any historical records where a pirate has done something good (e.g. did not harm and kill others). I think, for young children, it is okey to have fun with pirate stories, just as long as they understand the difference between fantasy and reality.

Pirate stories are similar to cowboy stories in which the heroes are based on outlaws from the past. I think it is a way for people to remember the past in a fun and non threatening way.:)
