Hi,

I am writing an atricle in spanish on Parrot Astrology.

Need help in pointing out the mistakes.

Firstly, I am not sure if the phrase "Astrología de loro" itself is correct. "Astrología de loro" would mean "Astrology of Parrot" but it is actually called "Parrot Astrology" so wondering how do I say this in spanish.

Below is my passage in spanish.

Gracias,

Hi, raji!

It look like it has nothing to do with "astrología" but it rather is "cartomancia" (you may use "tarot" as it is more prestigious with Spanish speaking publics, in spite of being incorrect). Using the word "loro" it's also a downside; maybe the adjective "psitácido" (relating with parrot-like birds) can work.

If you tell us who is going to read that, we may find the better correction.

Hi,

Should I say cartomancia con loro?I have to bring in parrot somehow..
This article is for non Indian audiences, any one who knows spanish :)

The speciality of this type of astrology is that the fortune tellers use parrot to predict the future.

You may use "loro" when you explain the procedure. You need to avoid some cultural clash and some rejection that may arise those parrots involved in such sensitive business (remember, here a cow is food and a parrot an exotic plague). Or simply refer to that as "cartomancia hindú" or "tarot hindú" -I'm sure it would be promoted here using the last term- and slip the parrot later. I recommend you to use "artes adivinatorias" instead of "astrología" in other parts of the text. Also replacing "fueron mecenas eficaces" by "protegieron y patrocinaron". There are half a dozen other issues that need to be addressed. Let's see if someone else helps.

Hi Aleccowan,
Thanks for your help.
cartomancia hindú is a better title.

You suggested me to use "artes adivinatorias" instead of "astrología" in the passage. So should I blindly replace astrología with artes adivinatorias and not use astrología anywhere?
Dozen of other issues are issues dealing with my spanish/cultural issues as these?

My proposal would be "adivinación con loros". I prefer the plural here, because singular would mean to me that there is only one parrot capable of doing this.

"adivinación con loros" tambien parece mejor.

¿Alguien puede revisar mi paso , por favor?
