Hey everyone. My name is BJ. I am very interested in learning Spanish. I work with a large number of Mexicans and some Guatemalans and I have gotten to the point where I can hold a conversation comfortably. The problem I have is that I can't spell and my grammar is not the best which means I can't write and reading is still quite the challenge. So. . . here I am! I really love the Spanish language and more than that I am intrigued by the culture. I am hoping to learn a lot here and I would much appreciate any help I can get. I am a full time dad, husband, worker, and college student. I can't take Spanish classes at my school so I am going it alone :cool:
P.S. My nickname at work is Borrego, or Borregita depending on the day:thinking:
Nice to meet everyone,
BJ

Hi BJ. Welcome to the forums!
Since borrego is a masculine noun, the diminutive suffix needs to match - ito. And, in order to keep the hard 'g' sound, you'll need to add a 'u' before the ending.
borrego -> borreguito

Welcome indeed.
I don't have the Spanish acumen to enter into the discussion on your nickname, but if you're cool with it then it's all good.
Stick around and learn a lot, just like I'm hoping to.

Thanks. I took Japanese in school because EVERYONE took Spanish and i wanted to be different :rolleyes:. When I hit the work force, I sort of fell in love with learning Spanish. Now I can honestly say I have a passion to learn the language more and more. I really want to go with my church as a translator on mission trips to Mexico and Guatemala. This looks like a great place to learn
