Tengo tres preguntas por favor...
¿El lengua y idioma es lo mismo?
Hago mensajes de texto. ¿Está bine asi?
¿Cómo se dice "cómo un burro hablando de orejas" en ingles?

Hi all, I am a beginner learner and only started it 4 weeks ago. I really wish I can speak the same as I write, because I am not confident enough ; I am still trying hard to understand and making sense on Spanish sentence structure in terms of groups of us doing the speaking during the lesson, or even in writing. I know I shouldn't do but it comes as nature that translating it from English to Spanish. :banghead:

I welcome to any suggestions on Spanish sentence structure and how or what to practice on speaking when there is no partner to speak with please.

Many thanks ~

Welcome, Nicanora!

The phrase "como el burro hablando de orejas" (I knew it as "el burro dijo ¡qué orejas largas!") is "the pot calling the kettle black". There are a lot of regional variations and different nuances according to the country: in Mexico "el comal le dijo a la olla ¡mira qué tiznado estás!", in Argentina "el muerto se ríe del degollado" (about harsh criticism).

Thanks aleCcowaN for replying one of my questions.

So is the phrase rude? I saw that from one of the Spanish learning websites.... !! I have no idea what it was and have no clue of how to use it either....!! @@

Welcome, Nicanora!

For only 4 weeks of study you are doing very well!

1. Yes, "la lengua" = "el idioma" = "(the) language". Each word also has some other meanings, but they do not share the other meanings. [edit]: Actually, only "lengua" has other meanings, according to at least one on-line dictionary.
2. Yes, posting messages in the forums is fine. Each forum has a name and a descriptions that identifies the types of topics and messages that are appropriate for that forum.
