Conjugated verb - infinitivo finder

not sure if what i am asking for exists.

sometimes i have trouble figuring out what the infinite root of the verb is.

for instance diré is the future tense of decir. i have not learnt all the tenses so sometimes i have no clue what the infinite verb is since many dictionaries dont have the conjugated versions as a term to search on. so if i search for diré sometimes i find no entry for it. most of the time i am using paper, not online.

i have to go a long route to figure out the meaning if its not easily apparent to me in context.

And if you're using paper, you can take a look at a conjugation manual (http://www.amazon.com/Conjugacion-Lengua-Espanola-Editors-Larousse/dp/970221355X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322012145&sr=8-1), which will give you the intuition for conjugating and not just guessing hints. :)

angelica thanks for the suggestion. since i am actually taking a class with a text book, i get the patterns. its the irregular verbs that stump me. for instance i never have to look up hablar, but i do decir.

That's precisely what a conjugation manual is for... it would be idle to have only regular verb rules. These books help with the patterns for irregular verbs and one gets used to them with the examples. ;)

You don't have clue of the infinitive of the word Decir, for example if you have in the present only you can use the word as the context remark here Digo lo que pienso, if you are using the pass tense in the phrase you can use Dije lo contrario de ti, if you are referring to the future then you will get the verb in future as the example can indicating you in the will verb, then you can say Dire lo que piendo, here you are using the indicative of the verb in the future verb, and in the verb if you are using in the present as something that you are doing into the English we have to use the we ING into the Spanish is almost likes to the you normally use into the English language.

Then you can use the word Estoy diciendo la verdad, I telling the true.

this is the hole i am realising i have in my learning of the language.

i need to practise, practise, practise more. not just as purely verb conjugation, but as in complete sentences.

no - i have not been practising that much at all.

kinda like ir - voy, fui, iba, iría.

with more and more practise i find a lot of spanish becomes intuitive for me. for instance the use of para or por. first i go by what sounds right to me. and then i check the rules to see if i am right and most of the time i am. and its only because i have practised it so much.
