I know that pingüe means fat, but is it used strictly figuratively? Is the term used in Latin America?

I have only seen it used figuratively in some written articles ("obtuvo pingües ganancias", "disfrutó de la pingüe victoria"...), and in archaic translations of classic texts, like La Ilíada ("...y sacrificaron pingües vacas a los dioses...")
But I have never heard it used in daily life speech.

It's still used in the fixed expressions "pingües ganancias" (fat, succulent benefits) and "pingües negocios" (more than lucrative). We commonly use "negocios jugosos" y "suculentas ganancias" instead.
