Something my students usually think is quite funny is the fact that you say: to sit on a chair but to sit in an armchair.

Good point Iris, I guess since an armchair (stuffed chair, recliner, "lazy-boy" [a brand name]) is bigger and puffier, you fit in it instead of on it. ;)
