I was told that `cojondongo´ is a meal well known in the Extremadura state of Spain.
I´m still wondering what it is.
Any ideas:?:

Espero no seas canibal

Busqué un poco y no pude hallar nada sobre cojundongo. Quizá algún español/a podrá ayudarte.

Busqué también sin darme con ella. Quizá sea cuestión de mala ortografía.

I have never heard that word (cojun...).
The right spelling is morcilla:it's my son's favourite dish.
Typical too are paella and gazpacho. Paella is a rice dish and gazpacho is a delicious cold tomato soup.

David, I would only accuse Jane of being a cannibal if she ate madrileño cocido (not cocido madrileño)...But being such a nice lady I'm sure she never would.:)

Probably gazpacho and Spanish omelette. I also like arroz a banda (paella without the trimmings) And yours?

Sosia,
Paprika is pimentón. (sweet chilli/chile powder). Over here pimientos piquillos are unavailable fresh, but you can find them canned or in jars in specialty food stores. Sometimes you can find them in Spanish restaurants usually stuffed with bacalao and, at the restaurant where I had it, not as good as they are in Spain.

That´s right. I saw your post but I forgot about it. :)

One thing I really like are the chiles rellenos. You take a large chile poblano which is about the size of a bell pepper and not spicy at all. You slice it open on one side and you remove the seeds and viens. There are different kinds of fillings, one I like is ground beef with different sweet fruits and nuts and cheese. The chile is filled with this mixture, then it's dunked in milk and breaded with flour and deep fat fried. (The filling is cooked previously and still hot.)

Of course there are other types of chile relleno like the ones that only have cheese inside, but they aren't as good. ;)

Yes stuffed peppers. Stuffed peppers American style consists of big green
bell peppers stuffed with chopped meat(never fish) and baked in an oven with thin tomato sauce sometimes sweetened with sugar and/or raisins.
