Would you kindly tell me if these are the best translations for the following?
elementary school - escuela primaria
junior high school - escuela secundaria
high school - escuela secundaria or escuela superior
If "escuela secundaria" can be used for both, how do you differentiate them in conversation?
bachelor's degree - bachillerato or título de grado
high school diploma - diploma or bachillerato
If "bachillerato" can be used for both, how do you differentiate them in conversation?
Thank you very much for your help.
:)

This can change from country to country, so in Mexico:
Educación básica:
·Kindergarten - preescolar (education divided in two years, children from 4 to 6 years old)
·Elementary school - (escuela) primaria (six years, children from 6 to 12 years old) -> Diploma earned: Certificado de primaria
Educación media básica:
·Junior high school - escuela secundaria (three years, children from 12 to 15 years old) -> Diploma earned: Certificado de secundaria
Educación media superior:
·High school - preparatoria / bachillerato (three years, teenagers from 15 to 18 years old) -> Diploma earned: Certificado de preparatoria / certificado de educación media superior.
Educación superior:
·Universidad (from four to five years, depending on the kind of career, adults from 18 to about 23 years old) -> Diploma earned: Licenciatura (Bachelor's degree)
-> Master's degree: Maestría (usually two years, normally for people younger than 35 years old)
-> Doctorate: Doctorado (usually two years, normally for people younger than 35 years old)

Yes, I couldn't translate most of the terms given into English, let alone into Peninsular Spanish.

@Pjt: perhaps describing by age, local name and title earned we can have an idea of equivalent schools, so we can make a big table at the end of the thread. :)
