In Costa Rica, at least among the people with whom I played the game, there were names for the numbers on the tiles:
1 chuzo
2 pato
3 oreja
4 pata cruzada
5 brincona
6 sena (or cena?)
0-0 pastilla de jabón
1-1 ojos de culebra
2-2 dos patos
3-3 hiedra venenosa
4-4 alacrán
5-5 pepitas de oro
6-6 furgón
What other names might they have in other countries?

If you're interested in playing dominoes (jugar al dominó), you can find the rules and pictures of the game tiles on the internet. You may also play the game online.
But, here's all I've ever done with domino tiles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDy2xWpZWVc&feature=related).

That was a double-six set I was referring to, the only version I have encountered. Apparently in some countries, such as Cuba, the double-nine set is more popular. What an undertaking it must be to learn the names of all those numbers, if in fact they have names!
