This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word (http://daily.tomisimo.org/) for May 13, 2008

pañal -masculine noun (el), diaper. Look up pañal in the dictionary (http://www.tomisimo.org/dictionary/spanish_english/panal)

Los pañales económicos salen más costosos porque ocupas más y se pueden reventar.
Cheap diapers are actually more expensive because you use more and they can leak.

Nappies on this side of the Atlantic. I think there are quite a few differences when talking about baby paraphernalia. A bottle teat is a nipple for you, I think. And do you use pacifier for dummy?

Yes, and some people call the pacifier a binky. Binky sounds like it should be British too. If they don't know about it, they need to.
¿Qué es la palabra en español, pacificadora?

No, chupete.
En México, chupón. @Poli, I think Binky used to be a brand name of pacifier IIRC.
