In google translate, creo means I. Google translate is obviously wrong. Beware such translators.

That would be semi correct.
(yo) Creo = I believe.
It is the conjugated form.
Like Perikles warned you, beware of electronic translators.
Now, if you treat an electronic translator as a dictionary, you can use that to your advantage and translate word by word, then the translation can happen in your head, instead of the electronic mean. That is most advantageous for you.

'Creo' means 'I believe'.
'Creer' is the infinitive form of the verb 'believe'. This is the unconjugated form of the verb. In order to use the verb as an action, it must be conjugated. The various endings a verb can take during conjugation will convey the person. In the present indicative tense, the ending for the first person ('I'; 'yo', in Spanish) always conveys the person unequivocally. Therefore, there's no need to say 'yo', since it's already conveyed by person ending. If you do say the subject pronoun - 'yo creo' - you're adding emphasis to the subject.
'Creo' is only one form of the present indicative tense. If the subject is someone other than the first person, another ending is needed. See the table below for all the possible endings in the present indicative tense for an -ER verb (the ending of the infinitive form).
Creer (Stem: CRE- Ending: -ER)
Present Indicative Tense
{||} | Person | Ending | Conjugated Form (Stem + Ending)
{|}1st Person, Singular | Yo (I) | -o | Creo
{|}2nd Person, Singular | Tú (You, familiar) | -es | Crees
{|}3rd Person, Singular | Él (He) | -e | (Él) Cree
{|}3rd Person, Singular | Ella (She) | -e | (Ella) Cree
{|}3rd Person, Singular | Usted (You, formal) | -e | (Usted) Cree
{|}1st Person, Plural | Nosotros (We) | -emos | Creemos
{|}2nd Person, Plural | Vosotros (You, familiar) | -éis | Creéis
{|}3rd Person, Plural | Ellos (They, masculine or mixed group) | -en | (Ellos) Creen
{|}3rd Person, Plural | Ellas (They, all feminine) | -en | (Ellas) Creen
{|}3rd Person, Plural | Ustedes (You, formal) | -en | (Ustedes) Creen
As you can see, the third person has the same ending for all three subject pronouns. If the subject isn't known, the subject needs to stated to dispel ambiguity.
There are two other verb types:
-AR Verbs
-IR Verbs
These verbs take different endings, as depicted in the tables that follow.
