¿Cuando se usa "ese" o "este"? Tengo problemas con "este".
Normalmente uso "este" o "esta" en casi todos los casos, pero algunas veces pienso que el uso es incierto.
Por ejemplo,
"Esta discriminación puede ser subconsciente."
¿Por qué no se usa "esa"?
Gracias

The use of one pronoun or the other, for this kind of cases, reflects a subjective appreciation of the speaker: if they say "esta discriminación", they feel it closer to them; if they say "esa discriminación", they may not feel directly affected by such situation.

It all depends on what you're trying to say. The two words are as different as 'that' and 'this'.
Esta discriminación ... = This discrimination ...
Esa discriminación ... = That discrimination ...
Your original title thread contained the word 'eso' instead of 'ese'. I changed it because it looks like your question is about the demonstrative adjectives. There are plural forms, as well, and there is a third demonstrative adjective that you didn't mention.
Here is a site (http://eljuego.free.fr/Fichas_gramatica/FG_demostrativos.htm) that explains the demonstratives, both adjectives and pronouns.
