"And she was phenomenal and I kept a scrapbook on her which is why it was so fascinating for me a few years later in Hollywood to actually meet her at MGM in the makeup room, and she was so sweet because she weh, hum, she was showing pictures of her children to everybody and she was very bawdy, you know, I think that's something that a lot of people didn't know about her. She liked to(?) salty turn of(?) phrase but then us English actresses always did do that".

Nice translation. Are you a translation by chance?

Nice translation. Are you a translator by any chance?

There, just in case it wasn't a big typo. :)

I don't consider myself a translator unless there are almost monolingual translators. Anyway I managed in the past to develop a lot of translations and get paid, including some technical international dairy regulations and user manuals regarding medical appliances, among other less potentially harmful texts. I was supervised by native English speakers and was corrected just one time, one phrase. It was a interesting job to do, but I decided to move on to other more pleasurable jobs (not necessarily better paid)

But I still can't manage hearing, speaking and thinking in English, or even getting a good grasp of its grammar. That's why I keep coming here and there, and try to figure out what's wrong.
