I remember my momma said that you can't hurry love.
Recuerdo que mi mama decía que 'no se puede apresurar el amor'
So because it was likely that the Mum 'used to say' this, although the translation says 'said' would it fit better to use decía over dijo - and what about solia decir or would that really change the meaning to a definite 'used to'?

Solía decir: used to say.

Recuerdo que mi mamá decía que 'no se puede apresurar al amor'. (song lyrics translation: no puedes apresurar al amor)

And what about 'solía decir', or would that really change the meaning to a definite 'used to'?The use of 'decía' is correct - repeated or habitual action in the past. 'Solía decir' slightly changes the meaning to 'something done out of habit, but maybe not all the time'. In other words, 'used to say it (because it was a habit)', but didn't necessarily always remind me.
