I have not heard of a determiner before. The description given on the linked page is:

"A determiner is a word (http://grammar.tomisimo.org/Word) that modifies a noun (http://grammar.tomisimo.org/Noun) but does not describe its attributes, as an adjective (http://grammar.tomisimo.org/Adjective) does."

I don't understand and there are no examples given. Can someone please give me some examples of this?

Thank you in advance. :)

Determiners can be different kinds of words (articles, demonstratives, possessives...). They "establish" what the noun is in the sentence.

Articles -> La casa, los niños...
Demonstratives -> Este libro, estas manzanas...
Possessives -> Mi hermano, nuestros amigos...
Numbers -> Un león, trescientas personas...
Others -> ¡Cuánta agua!, ¿qué comida?, algunos invitados, muchos colores...
