A workmate of mine wants a translation for gangoso and the best thing I can come up with is nasal. Any better ideas?

What a question, Iris. I'm positive that's an impossible word to translate (I'm checking this word order, I'm sick and tired of the imperative English word order:rolleyes:).
Gangoso is the most idiosyncratic word I can think of.
To explain what a gangoso is, you should upload a video of Fernando Esteso, Andrés Pajares, Eugenio... Can't keep on... :)

Your post is perfect. No problems with word order this time.

I think nasal is about one of the best options.
Tiene un hablar gangoso.
He has a nasal voice.
He has a twangy voice.
He speaks through his nose.

For your examples, David, you can also use in Spanish nasal.
To me, gangoso implies a little more. It's a somehow for some people funny nasal way of behaviour. Sorry I cannot be clearer.
Iris, you'll have to upload a video and let people opine.

Ok, maybe there's no way of translating it :) I'll look forward to seeing a video, maybe with that I'll be able to come up with a translation.

First I would have to learn to upload a video and that's not one of my many abilities, sorry.(Don't care if you laugh, I won't see it)

Thanks, Rusty. You are a star. You've reminded me of my childhood. I hadn't seen that Ramona video(embarrassing or what?)for years on end...

I agree with Alfonso, to me "gangoso" is more than "nasal" it also implies someone who is not very clear expressing his thoughts and therefore kind of annoying to listen to.....hmmm it's really kind of hard to translate.....
