This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word (http://daily.tomisimo.org/) for June 7, 2008

uña -feminine noun (la), fingernail. Look up uña in the dictionary (http://www.tomisimo.org/dictionary/spanish_english/una)

Si no tuviéramos uñas en los dedos, sería muy difícil agarrar las cosas.
If we didn't have fingernails on our fingers, it would be very hard to grasp things.

Yes, I second what Rusty says... Thanks so much Iris for providing related saying and words for the daily words. It's a great learning experience.

In Mexico they use the term uña to describe people who steal, but I'm not sure exactly how it's used. Does anyone have any more info?
