This means one thing:
It requires a little time from the teacher.
And this means another:
It requires little time of the teacher.
I think you meant the latter, that "it doesn't require a lot of the teacher's time." In fact, it would sound better if it were said that way, instead of 'it requires little time of the teacher'.
