I'm American and just spent a bunch of time in South America traveling, and intend to go back. I have been keeping a blog and would like to give it a name. I've been calling it Desviamos (meaning, let's deviate, detour, let's get lost), but that's not quite right...

Can anyone think of a Spanish term that might work here? I want it to embody the idea of "let's wander" and have it seem fun, rather than "let's get lost" and have a negative connotation potentially.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

There are a couple of different ways to say 'to wander about'. Depending on context, some could infer that you get lost in the process. Here are a few that seem to fit your meaning.
recorrer
pasear
deambular
andar sin rumbo
caminar sin rumbo

vagar
vagabundear

By the way, 'desviamos' isn't the first-person plural command form of the verb 'desviar', so it doesn't mean what you thought. ;)
'Desviarse' is the infinitive that you need to use, and the first-person plural command form is 'desviémonos'. This means "let's go/wander off course."

Make sure you use the first-person plural imperative. That's the only correct way to say "let's ...".
This site has a verb conjugation page, in case you weren't aware.

Thanks Rusty. Do you the "Grammar" sub-forum?

Could you tell me the first-person plural imperative for recorrer and pasear?

Thanks Rusty. Do you the "Grammar" sub-forum? What? All members visit all forums.

Could you tell me the first-person plural imperative for recorrer and pasear? In a verb conjugation chart, the first-person plural is often associated with the subject pronoun 'nosotros', so you'll need the corresponding conjugation.

Here in Tomísimo, you can type 'conj:recorrer' in the dialog box in the upper-left-hand corner of any page to access the verb chart for 'recorrer'. The imperative mood chart is number 15. Do the same for 'pasear'.

You can also find nice verb charts here (http://conjugator.reverso.net/conjugation-spanish-verb-recorrer.html) and here (http://conjugator.reverso.net/conjugation-spanish-verb-pasear.html). Look for the Imperativo mood and match person (nosotros).

Sorry, when you said, "This site has a verb conjugation page, in case you weren't aware", I thought you meant forums.

As for the conjugation tools, I tried a few words and I rather like the sound of "recorramos" — thanks!
