Dear all, my all time heroe was a certain George Harrison, here is one of his many wise quotes, with my attempt at translation following: please feel free to correct me,.many thanks.

Queridos amigos, mi idolo favorito era George Harrison, la siguiente es una de sus citas sensibles, con mi tentativa a traducir, por favor corrijanme, muchas gracias.

“It's being here now that's important. There's no past and there's no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can't relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don't know if there is one.”

"es estar aqui que es lo mas importante, noy hay pasado y no hay futuro.El tiempo es una cosa muy engañoso, todo que hay es el presente, podemos coseguir la experiencia de la pasada, pero no podemos revivirla, y ademas podemos esperar para el futuro pero no sabemos si hay uno."

At this stage of my learning i would be happy if a native speaker could understand roughly what i was trying to say.

Not bad. :) Just pay attention to your accents.

Queridos amigos, mi idolo (Check spelling) favorito ("ídolo" is already a superlative, so it does not admit an adjective.) era George Harrison, la siguiente es una de sus citas sensibles (Attention! "Sensible" means "sensitive". Check your dictionary for a better translation of "wise".), con mi tentativa a (Try another preposition) traducir, por favor corrijanme (Check spelling), muchas gracias.

"es estar aqui que es lo mas importante (Check your accents and try rewording. Start with the subject of the sentence instead of the verb so it will flow better in Spanish), noy hay pasado y no hay futuro.El (Always a space after an ending punctuation mark.) tiempo es una cosa muy engañoso (Check your gender agreement), todo que hay es el presente, podemos coseguir la experiencia de la pasada (Try rewording. The first definite article musn't be there, and "the past" refers to the time, which in Spanish has a different gender") , pero no podemos revivirla (Check note on "past"), y ademas (Spelling) podemos esperar para (Another preposition or none is needed) el futuro pero no sabemos si hay uno."
