Hi, boy, on behalf of all us, I bid you welcome to the forums.

Good luck.
Please, I´m not a boy..., I´m a full grown woman.
Besides, I think that´s a very informal way of addressing someone you don´t know, it doesn´t sound very nice.
Thanks all for the warm welcome.

I'm sorry lady, for the addressing, but it wasn't my intention.

Only I wanted to be likable with you.

I'm sorry lady, for the addressing, but it wasn't my intention.

Only I wanted to be likable with you.

Here are a couple of different ways to say this:

I'm sorry.
-or-
I'm sorry about the informality of my greeting.

It wasn't my intention to offend you.

I was only trying to be nice.
-or-
I was only trying to be friendly.

Crotalito, you cannot translate gustoso into likeble. I don't think this last word means what you meant in English. Am I right, native English speakers?

I'm sorry lady, for the addressing, but it wasn't my intention.

Only I wanted to be likable with you.You should say: I only wanted to be nice with you.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.I didn't think Crotalito's post wasn't nice. I only thought Crotalito changed the sex (which, on the other hand, was impossible to know beforehand).

If Crotalito's post was informal and not nice, what's Elaina's post?
Hey......

Welcome to the Forums.

Elaina:cool:Anyway, I think formality is a cultural knowledge that varies from country to country, from town to town, from person to person.

Welcome to the forums! ;)

It really doesn´t matter, at least not to me... I was only pointing out what I thought looked a bit out of line.
I´ve been told I´m still too set in the old ways.
