Expener?

I understand every word in the following sentence except expeniéndoles. Could this verb be a misreading of what the writer wrote out in longhand? I can't find its definition anywhere.

Hablé con ellos, expeniéndoles 3 alternativas: seguir con nosotros, salir solos o tomar su amigo y de allí tentar fortuna...

It's a typo. It must be "exponiéndoles". :)

How about 'expender', with the idea of dispensing/distributing or passing out three alternatives?
