I just saw this in the CNN page and I think it's so true...And kind of fun...
Sexes don't agree (http://edition.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/personal/08/05/o.men.women.tell.them.apart/index.html)
Women want men to know what women want. And men want women not to want anything.:thinking::?::?::impatient:

Women want men to know what women want. And men want women not to want anything.:thinking::?::?::impatient:

ohhh, it sound me. It's the famous "You (the man) must do what I (the woman) am thinking. Men do not think"
For example.
My wife proves a pair of earings. She ask me "What do you think?"
(suppose she likes them. And suppose she cares what I say.)
If I say "You look good" she says "thanks sweetheart"
If I say "You do not look god " She says to the shopgirl "men have no taste"

It's always the same. Women go to marriage thinking he will change (according to her directions), and he doesn't change. Men go to marriage thinking she will not change, and she changes.

saludos :D

This must be for married people, as I don't share this point of view over (the war of) sexes. :p

I think, the women and the man both are shall has the same view piont about it, then for example my wife is a case very fun, she sometime, she's angry with me when I don't help her with the things of the home, and I said her, please love you shalln't angry with me, because I love you much, I think, what the women if change when got married, and the women doesn't change and nothing, it's more silly, at leas I think it, I don't know the life of another couples, How is their life, but some it's sure all we have us different way to think in our matrimonies.

OK, Jane, thanks a lot! So, what are the possibilities? I'm sorry I always forget it:

It looks familiar to me. for something you can see... e.g someone, a face, a street...
It sounds familiar to me. for something you hear... e.g music, a voice...
It seems familiar to me. for both, depending on the context.
It reminds me of... Hacerte recordar  is that correct Spanish?

...:lengua:

Thanks a lot, Jane. Yes, it's correct Spanish:

Me hace recordar que...
Me recuerda que... (this is more common).

How about simply "It sounds like..." :) It's sounds more natural that way than "It sounds familiar."

'It sounds like' needs an object, but 'it sounds familiar' stands alone (it is a complete idea and needs no object). This is a very common phrase, and it sounds very natural to me.
In order to say the same thing using your suggestion, you would need to say something like 'It sounds like something I've heard before."

Absolutely, Rusty,

That's what I meant to say. I was just responding quickly. It sounds familiar can stand alone, that's the difference. I was just thinking that in a sentence the other sounded better.

Which in my opinion, is one of the many reasons why marriages don´t last these days. Unfortunately...!

Alfonso, I take this to mean that you aren´t married...
What would your opinion be on the issue, since you don´t share this one?

Alfonso

Alfonso, I take this to mean that you aren´t married...
What would your opinion be on the issue, since you don´t share this one?Well, I don't get into war against the sex I love (make love, not war), and I try not to generalise about anybody, so I never speak about women as if they were of an unique type. Finally, if I'm asked what do you, men, think about...? I can only say that I have no idea what other men think... I usually recommend to go to Gallup institute or something and find out. What about you, Amanpour?

Like you, I don´t generalize.
BTW, what and where is Gallup institute ?

I think Alfonso was referring to the Gallup Polls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallup_poll), conducted by Gallup (http://www.gallup.com/).
The company is global in nature, with almost 30 locations.
