Hello,

I have heard both "no me gusto la musica" and "a mi no me gusto la musica". When do you use "a mi"? It seems redundant.

Thanks in advance.

First off, 'me gusto' is most likely not what you've heard and you wouldn't want to use it in this sentence. That means "I like myself."

No me gusta la música. = I don't like music.
A mí no me gusta la música. = I don't like music.

Saying the indirect object 'a mí' is emphasizing the indirect object pronoun 'me'. So, you're right, it is redundant if you don't mean to give emphasis.
