Are my sentences correct?

-In our university, every education major has to do practical training. An English and Education major usually is doing a five year degree, so in their fourth year of study, they will assigned to primary schools for practical training, and in their fifth, to secondary schools. The meaning of practical training is that they have to be teachers in real schools, trying to lead an English class, so that before graduation, they will have a deep experience of being a teacher, and they will know whether in the future they should still choose to be an English teacher as their career.

Your sentences are pretty much correct, but a little awkward. I have corrected this in my revision. Watch your sentences which tend to be very long.

"Practical training" is commonly called 'student teaching' or 'interning'.

Thank you, but

1. If in that situation we cannot say so, generally speaking is it grammatical to say

-I'm doing a five-year degree at UCLA?

2.Is 'lead a class' always not possible, or is it not possible only in that context? For example, can I say this?

-For a 3 credit-unit course, sometimes in a week students have to go to separate sessions, for example, one hour on Monday and two hours on Wednesday; sometimes if the teacher chooses this, he can lead the class for an entire three hours, so that students do not have to come to class on separate days.
