I think you're looking for the word, currency, and not, pound. Pound is the currency used in England, and other places, like dollars are used in the U.S., kroner in Denmark, euros in Finland, and in your case, centavos/pesos in Mexico.

Centavos are the subdivision of the peso, just like there are 100 pennies to a dollar.

Por lo que has escrito, entiendo que hay una moneda (a coin) que vale cinco pesos y que es muy raro encontrarla hoy en día. ¿No es cierto?
Si eso es el caso, se dice "I'd like to have a five peso coin." :)
