Could I use society person in my sentence? (does it make sense?)
-John showed coldness, and this emotion was not a coldness that was shown when a person did not like a particular person but an emotion characteristic of such a ____ as John shown to a lower class girl.

It may be used, but the sentence might sound better if 'person of society' were used instead.
John showed coldness to a lower-class girl, not the coldness shown when a person doesn't like a particular person, but the coldness that is characteristic of a person of society.

Thanks. But what do you think 'person of society' or my version would mean? I'm not so sure as before as to its meaning. I thought it could be ambiguous now: a person from a higher social class? Or a person who is arrogant and thinks himself important?
