In the online system, a teacher says in the title of a post

-Deadline __ the final article

The article is something students have to hand in. Could we use of? (not for)

Both work.

Thanks. Is of correct because it is in a title, not a complete sentence? Could we use of instead of for?:

-The deadline for applications is 30 April.
-The deadline for entries is noon Thursday.

You switched from the singular to the plural in your complete sentences. There you cannot use 'of'. It is only when the singular form is used that 'of' is acceptable.
