Aprender (a tocar)

In the sentence below, in English, how to play is often omitted:
• I have been learning how to play the piano for ten years.
• I have been learning the piano for ten years.

Can we do the same in Spanish?
• Llevo diez años aprendiendo a tocar el piano.
• Llevo diez años aprendiendo el piano.

I'd say "aprendiendo piano" without the article, but yes you can omit "a tocar". :)
