The difference between 'Fondo Animado' and 'Fondo Vivo'

As the title said, what's the exact difference between 'Fondo Animado' and 'Fondo Vivo' when I'm talking about live wallpaper apps?

The difference between "animado" and "vivo" is the same difference between "animated" and "alive".

So 'Fondo Animado' is like animated background literally, and 'Fondo Vivo' is more like 'live background'. Am I right ?

Not really. "Alive" is not the same as "live". "Vivo" would mean it has a life of its own.

Vivo can mean vivid, so surely you can have a vivid background on your wallpaper. Vivo has lots of different meanings. It is often used describe a trickster, Eres muy vivo can mean you are trying to fool me- at least in Caribbean Spanish.

Because vivo has so many meanings, intenso may be a better choice of words.

I agree with Poli. "Vivo" has many meanings (vivid, alive, lively, smart...), but there is a specific context where there is only one translation possible; "animated background" can only be "fondo animado".

"Intenso" is a synonym of "vivo" only when it refers to things like vivid colors, dreams, memories...
