This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word (http://daily.tomisimo.org/) for October 18, 2008

hormiga - feminine noun (la) - ant. Look up hormiga in the dictionary (http://www.tomisimo.org/dictionary/spanish_english/hormiga)

¡Ojalá que fuéramos tan fuertes como las hormigas, que pueden cargar varias veces el peso de su propio cuerpo!
I wish we were as strong as ants, who can lift several times their own body weight.

My 2 cents:

How about 'ser una hormiguita'?

Means work hard, as ants do, or be good at saving.

wouldn't THAT be nice ;) I am SO weak. I would be nice to be strong. I could rescue people ^^
Yes, ants are very strong, carrying things many times their own weight
