Hey,
I am moving to Buenos Aires on January 2nd. Therefore, I will be learning Spanish. I studied Spanish for 4 years back in high school, but that was 5 years ago! I have not spoken or studied any Spanish in years. Entropy has set in and I am now pretty awful at Spanish. My vocabulary is still decent. So I can usually follow written Spanish, but my ability to articulate and conjugate Spanish into actual coherent sentences is severely lacking. I will be taking professional Spanish lessons after arriving in Buenos Aires.
I look forward to using this forum and site for assistance.

Hi Satyr
Go ahead, try to make difficult sentences, at least a bit more difficult than what you can actually do, we'll be delighted to give you a hand.
Cheers and welcome,
PH

Claro está. Hube jugado profesionalmente para tres años. Lo amo! Juego en linea que me permite moverse a Argentina.
Does anyone here actually live in Argentina or know the dialect? I've heard about an odd "vos" form they use instead of "tu."

The most peculiar detail about Argentina is the way they pronounce the double l or y...vos is quite common in southamerica, I think.
It's difficult for me to describe the sound

I wouldn't be calling vos odd. :) You'll use it every day in Argentina.
Its conjugation differs from that of tú, but you'll get used to it in no time. The form of vos you'll learn in Argentina can be used in 3 countries of South America (and to a lesser degree in others) and 3 countries of Central America (and to a lesser degree in others). There are other forms of vos used in various other places. It isn't used very much in Mexico (generally only in its lower states) and is non-existent in Spain.

You may know this but Spanish is spoken with a strong Italian accent in Argentina. It's not only in the individual words but in the whole rhythm of the language. You may find the way Argentinians speak easy to understand because the pace people speak is slower than it is in most places. BA is a great place that has parts that look like Paris. Unlike Paris the price of living is incredibly inexpensive there for Americans and especially for Europeans.

Why is entendible not in the Tomísimo dictionary? I found it on another site; it means understandable.
Por qué no es "entendible" en el diccionario de Tomisimo? Lo busco en un diccionario otro. Lo significa understandable.

¿Por qué la palabra entendible no está en el diccionario de Tomísimo ? La busqué en otro diccionario. Lo Significa understandable.
Perhaps this is more a western hemisphere word. If you look for it in the DRAE (http://buscon.rae.es/draeI/), you'll find that it directs you to inteligible. Tomísimo says to use comprensible. This is certainly more common as far as internet hits.
