If I changed the underlined verb forms to those below, would the paragraph still be grammatically correct (even though there would be a change in meaning)?

Yes, that would be correct.

It would make sense with the nuance that this would express "less uncertainty" than the previous sentence. Yet, "permitirá" for me, should rather be "permita". The life you wish depends on two conditions: first you need a job, then you need the necessary income. So "será" is alright, but you need the subjunctive in "permita" because of the uncertainty. :)


- Tengo un trabajo que me permitirá lujos. (Certainty. I do have a job with an income that can afford luxury.)
- Si consigo un buen trabajo, me permitiré lujos. (Semi-certainty, but I'm confident that I will get such job.)
-Si consigo un buen trabajo, que me permita lujos, seré muy feliz. (If and if, then I will rejoice.)
