You know like some people say pop and some people say soda, what is the best way to say it in Spanish? refresco o gaseoso o soda? ???

Wow, that´s a good question. It depends the region, for example in North of Mexico (where I live) we say: Soda; in Mexico City it´s called: refresco, but in general you ask for the brand, this is, You sk for a Coca Cola, Sprite, Seven Up, Fanta, etc.
That´s the way we use in Mexico.

soda refresco wouldn't work. Just use refresco. :)

That's correct. "Refresco" is the generic term (no "soda" in Spain), but you usually go with the brand.
And it can be really funny when you hear someone ask for a "esprite" or a "siete u pé" ;)
