This is random....

So.... I received a parking ticket for failing to show a valid receipt because it was upside down. I think this is really stupid so I'm going to appeal the offence. What are my chances of getting pardoned if I send the company an appeal through e-mail or phone? I have to wait until tomorrow because the company is closed today, and yet they issue parking tickets. :grumble:

I definitely learnt my lesson and I hope you have too. Remember, place your ticket on the dashboard correctly!

Ignorance of the law/rules is no excuse, so if you didn't display it exactly how it was supposed to be displayed, they've got you. On the other hand, a respectful appeal, asking for clemency based on the fact that (1) you weren't willfully trying to avoid paying the parking fee, you had in fact payed, (2) this is your first offense (if it is), and (3) you have learned you lesson and will not let it happen again, should probably at least get the fine reduced by half. In my opinion, a personal appeal would by *much* more effective than an email or phone call. Dress a notch better than you normally do, have a clean-cut look about you and be respectful.

I agree with David. You have a better chance of getting "pardoned" if you show them respect by asking nicely, dressing nicer and doing it in person. I actually think you have a good chance.

Ella habla de haber recibido una multa de estacionamiento porque colocó el recibo debido boca abajo en el carro. La multa procede de la empresa donde estacionó el carro. Ella no quiere pagar la multa, o la quiere reducir, y nos pide nuestras opiniones sobre el asunto.

La hemos dicho que debe enfrentarse con los de la empresa cara a cara, vestido de punto en blanco y hablarles de una manera tranquila sobre el asunto. Creemos que así podría convencerlos a reducir la multa por "el delito".

Bueno si tiene que hablar directamente con la empresa consecionaria del estacionamiento a cargo, pero si en realidad ella tuvo la culpa entonces creo que deberia pagar la multa impuesta, aunque ella podria hablar y tratat de explicar el motivo si cometio algún error o algo por el estilo, osea que ella trate de dialogar con la gente del estacionamiento, tal vez de esa forma ella trate de minimisar el adeudo, pero bueno la multa de la impuso la policia o el personal del estacionamiento, Acado no puede sacar el carro del estacionamiento?
