Pimsleur doesn't ever explain anything, which is very frustrating. They will switch between using conocer and saber and not really say why. Here's an example that is really confusing me:

She knows the address
sabe la dirección

Do you know maria's address?
¿conoces la dirección de maria?

I already know it
ya la se

They're both talking about knowing information (an address). Shouldn't they both be saber?
I'm guessing conoces is being used because there is a person in the question?

saber = know facts or information about something or someone, or how to do something
conocer = to know people, places, or things (meet/know people, places visited, familiar with things (how they work, their purpose))

Generally, I would use saber when asking if someone knows something, but conocer suggests that the person you're asking has visited the other person before, and is, therefore, more familiar with their address than another person might be.
