I need help on answering these questions. I am not asking you to answer them, I just need help on explaining because I don't understand them at all!

1. What effect does grinding living material have upon the apparent catalase activity? How can this be explained?

2. What effec does boiling the living material have upon the apparent catalase activity? How can this be explained?

3. If manganese dioxide is a true catalyst, it should be possible to recover it and use it again. How could you show that this is the case?

4. What difficulties might you encounter if you tried to do this with catalase?

5. Your observations of catalase activity are qualitative, or only very roughly quantitative. How could you measure the rate at which hydrogen peroxide is broken down?

6. Do all living things contain catalase? How might you determine the probable answer to this question?

You should ask your teacher. It's the best way.

I got some of the questions. I would have to ask my group.

1. Increase surface area?
2. Kill the enzymes, because of the heat?
3.
4.
5.
6. yes, if there weren't any, then the cells would poison themselves with Peroxide. The catalase breaks Peroxide
