Hi,

Junior, on Duolingo, is pronounced in Spanish just like in English, more or less. Is there a list of Spanish words starting with "J", but pronounced English-like?

It's a word that "imported" the pronunciation and spelling, and it has been kept like that. We can even write the abbreviation "Jr."
I have never seen "júnior" (which would be the adapted spelling) or heard it pronounced with a Spanish "j". :)

In any case, it's a Latin word, so it's probably from such origin that we did not alter it, but most of the time we still don't write it in italics. :D

Junior is an English word that is kept in it's original sound.

The only other word starting with J pronounced in English that comes to mind is Jury in "Jury de Enjuiciamiento", which is not an ordinary jurado but a group created to determine if a judge's misconduct is bad enough to cause him or her to lose their immunity.

In my experience junior is pronounced yúñer by many Spanish speakers. They live in Ñu Yersi.
